Design Inspiration

I originally had a much more complicated design for this puzzle that involved a large mural on the facing wall. Because we wanted to reserve space in the Kern Center for artwork, and that facing wall was one of the few in the building without direct sunlight, we scrapped mural idea. Fortunately, I believe this puzzle is better and more elegant because of that constraint.

I wanted a variety of puzzle types throughout the building, and this one is a nice visual puzzle that takes advantage of this particular space. In its current form, this puzzle is only possible at this location in the building, which offers visitors a new way to view the space.
